  7.          For folks who have already seen previous versions of Writer's
  8.          Dream:
  9.                               Since Version 1.0:
  10.  
  11.          This  version  can  now  incorporate  as  many as 100 chapter
  12.          files.   The  first  version  could  handle  only  up  to  18
  13.          chapters.  Only  one  concession  has been made to display so
  14.          many chapters: the title box now can contain only 3 lines  of
  15.          text instead of the previous five lines.

  17.          As you can see, the program has brighter colors  and  a  more
  18.          symmetrical  appearance.  There  have  also been a  few  more
  19.          subtle improvements throughout the program!

  21.          In addition, there  are  some  new  programs  on  this  disk.
  22.          ORDER.EXE  will  allow  readers  to  print out your own order
  23.          form.

  25.          SPACE.EXE adds a custom left margin onto text files.
  26.  
  27.          REPAIR.EXE  comes  to  the  aid  of  those folks who own some
  28.          unusual word processing programs  which  don't  produce  pure
  29.          ASCII text.

  31.                               Since Version 2.0:

  33.          You can now list an .EXE or .COM file on the menu  as  if  it
  34.          were  a chapter of text, but it will run as a program.  Then,
  35.          when the program ends, the menu returns. You  can  do  tricks
  36.          such  as call a program to display a graph, or call a program
  37.          that  allows  user  input,  then return to the text chapters.
  38.          You can even call batch files which  do  many  things  before
  39.          returning to the menu.

  42.                                Since Version 3.0
  43.  
  44.          You can now list a .PCX file on the  menu,  and  it  will  be
  45.          displayed  automatically,  until  the  user  presses any key.
  46.              Writer's Dream can now  be  controlled  entirely  by  the
  47.          mouse,  although  a  mouse is not necessary.  There is a neat
  48.          new scrolling feature, with which you can move the text up or
  49.          down by moving the mouse up or down.  Furthermore,  the  text
  50.          advances quickly and unobtrusively when the left mouse button
  51.          is pressed.
  52.              The author can now control the colors the end  user  will
  53.          see.    This   includes   text,  background  and  pop-up  box
  54.          background, text color, border and shadow.
  55.              File  encryption  is  now  built in, for those who do not
  56.          want to allow the possibility of  end  users  changing  their
  57.          information and passing it along.
  58.              You  can  now use Writer's Dream as a simple file viewing
  59.          utility.  Simply type DREAM, then a space, then the  name  of
  60.          any ASCII file you want to see.
  61.              We  have a bookmark feature, so that end users can resume
  62.          where they left off in a previous session.
  63.              Writer's  Dream  now supports an unlimited number of .CFG
  64.          files so that you can build batch files, etc, which will  run
  65.          different books residing on the same disk.
  66.              ORDER.EXE   and   DREAM.EXE  will  recognize  an  unready
  67.          printer, even if the user states that the  printer  is  ready
  68.          and on line, thereby preventing a crash.
  69.              The  price  is  lower!   We've  replaced  the  cumbersome
  70.          two-layer price structure with a single,  low  price!   We've
  71.          even  removed  the postage charge to make purchasing Writer's
  72.          Dream easier.  For those responding to  previous  advertising
  73.          at  the  higher  price, we send a free copy of Media Magic to
  74.          make up for the difference!

  76.          Note:  If  you  are converting from a previous version, rerun
  77.          the BUILD program, since there are some  differences  in  the
  78.          BOOK.CFG  file. The previous version's BOOK.CFG file will not
  79.          work with this new version of Writer's Dream.
